While “vision” means different things to different people, the purpose of this site is to engage others in ongoing discussion about the things on the minds of vision professionals, people with visual impairment or blindness, and all those working and living with them.

My dream is to create a space where the knowledge of “our field” can reside… where people can post, debate, and retrieve information that we have developed and learned from. We organize, curate, and publish information in traditional ways, but the retrieval of that information and its use is typically linear once we have left the university or training program. Let’s honor the past and continue learning by sharing our knowledge with each other in real time. This is a place for knowledge exchange.

Management

We manage when we teach, when we learn, when we lead. We manage people and things. What if part of management “in our field” included learning communities where we can continue to acquire new knowledge and apply it in different ways, especially around leadership? Each blog on this site is designed to share a strategy or way of thinking that can be discussed and applied. Please share your thoughts and experiences in the Comment section of any blog post that resonates with you-- or grates against you!
